By Air
The Yucatán Peninsula is well-served by three main airports. We recommend arranging your ground transportation in advance for a smooth and effortless arrival.
- Chetumal International Airport (CTM)
- Approximate travel time: 40 minutes
- This is the closest and most convenient airport to Bacalar. The short, pleasant drive allows you to quickly immerse yourself in the tranquility of the lagoon.
- Tulum International Airport (TQM)
- Approximate travel time: 2 hours
- A fantastic new option that significantly shortens the journey from the north. The direct drive down Highway 307 is straightforward and scenic.
- Cancún International Airport (CUN)
- Approximate travel time: 4 to 4.5 hours
- As a major international hub, Cancún offers the widest range of flight options. The drive south is an opportunity to watch the lush landscape of Quintana Roo unfold as you make your way toward the serene waters of Bacalar.
